Matt Hire Formerly of Colorado Coalition for the Homeless in Denver Joins Options Treatment
I was the point person for Colorado Coalition for the Homeless/Colorado ID Project. This was a collaborative effort between the Department of Revenue and the Department of Motor Vehicles. We brought about an inclusive solutions approach to obtaining documents in order to satisfy requirements needed to be issued legal ID’s for the homeless.
I served as the first liaison to Denver district drug court and was on the Denver Homeless Court task force. Both programs were working together to interrupt cycles of drug addiction and homelessness, so that participants could be partnered with various community-based agencies for medical care, dental care, mental health care, and housing assistance. This helped save taxpayers a significant amount of money, as well as helping an underserved portion of our communities.
I served on the transition team assisting seven Metro county agencies establish detox services, when the collapse of Arapahoe House occurred.
I am a nationally certified mental health first aid trainer of trainers. A non-clinical basic training for community members around recognizing signs and symptoms of various mental health conditions on how to respond to a mental health crisis. I have trained thousands of individuals on this practice.
Corey’s Response to Matt Hire Coming Aboard
As the CEO and founder of Options Treatment, I am thrilled that Matt Hire has agreed to joining our community. Options Treatment strives to provide the highest quality of care in the field of Opioid Medically Assisted Treatment (OMAT). We believe that Matt will help us continue down this path.
After having met with Matt, reading professional reviews of Matt’s work in the Metro area, and having heard of his caring interactions with individuals struggling with addiction and homelessness, we could not be luckier to have him. We have come to understand that Matt’s work with the underserved in our communities, is second to none.
You could not have a better person in your corner if you are struggling with addiction, and the experiences that lead to addiction, such as trauma.
Matt has a wealth of experience supporting those who have been ravaged by the pain of addiction. He gets the fact that people do not want addiction in their lives. That this is a response to filling a sorrow filled void one has when they are actively abusing substances.
Matt believes that with the right supports, the healthy connections, and the compassionate efforts of professionals in this field, we can transform lives. We look forward to Matt providing his unique care to our Louisville service center, and our eventual downtown Denver location.
Our hope is that we will be able to share Matt’s skills and abilities so that we can aid those who are suffering and reaching out for help.
